Easter Bunnies or Christ?

Do not do this in remembrance of me!

This year, on April 20th, the Christian world will faithfully
celebrate a holiday known as Easter. For Christendom,
it is supposed to be a most holy day in remembrance of
the death and resurrection of Christ. The nominal Christians
are taught by their ministers that Easter is a holy day.

But, what do respected scholars say about Easter?

“It is interesting that the holiest day of the liturgical Christian
year, Easter Sunday, bears the name of the pagan sex goddess
Eastre and the pagan sun god Solis.”
-Panati, Charles. Sacred Origins of Profound Things.
New York: Penguin Books USA Inc., 1996.

What was that?
Easter is a sex goddess?

“The services of worship increased in splendor, but were less
spiritual… and they replaced the nighttime Passover service –
that was a commemoration of Christ’ death – with the pagan
springtime Easter Resurrection
. Not only had the date and
time been changed but the whole meaning of the festival was
changed. ”
— J.L. Hurlbut in his Story of the Christian Church, page 79

So, what is the festival of Easter about?

What do eggs, bunnies and baby chicks have
to do with the death of our Messiah?

Not a thing! As it turns out, maybe the icons
of Easter have something to do with the proper
celebration of rites for a fertility goddess.

What does Columbia encyclopedia
have to say about Easter?

Easter [A.S. Eastre, name of a spring goddess],
chief Christian feast, commemorating the resurrection
of Jesus after his crucifixion. In the West, Easter is
celebrated on the Sunday following the full moon next
after the vernal equinox (see calendar ); thus, it falls
between Mar. 22 and Apr. 25. The Orthodox Eastern
Church calculates Easter somewhat differently, so that
the Orthodox Easter usually comes several weeks after
that of the West.

The holiday is a festival for a Spring goddess!

Yes, it is true – Pagans have been celebrating Easter for many
centuries as a pagan festival and Christendom has adopted the
holiday and taught its followers to celebrate it. The name, Easter,
was not even changed! Easter is just one of many names given
to the goddess of Spring and fertility.

Old English Ēostre (also Ēastre) and Old High German Ôstarâ are
the names of a putative Germanic goddess whose Anglo-Saxon month,
Ēostur-monath, has given its name to the Christian festival of Easter.

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eostre

Depending on where in the world we are and what era,
she was also known as Esther, Ostara, Ishtar, Alban Eiler,
Ostarun, ôstartag’, Astarte, Eoastrae, Oestre, Ashtoreth
and many other names.

This year, the festival of the goddess Easter will be observed
on Sunday, April 20, but The Memorial for Christ will be
observed Monday, April 14.

How does our Father, Jehovah, feel while watching
many millions of people celebrating a pagan festival
dedicated to an unimportant goddess every year?
Does this show respect for Him?

And yet, the first commandment should
be the easiest one to keep!

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
(Exodus 20:3) (King James Version)

Yes, people have been taught by the priests and ministers
of Christendom that Easter is a holy day for Christians
yet as we can see from almost any encyclopedia article
that the festival of Easter is strictly of pagan origin.

How do we know that Christ did NOT really die on Good Friday
and then become resurrected Easter Sunday?

Of course, the Bible said that he died on Passover.
And then Christ, himself said:

40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of
a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three
nights in the heart of the earth.
(Matthew 12:40) (New International Version)

If he had died on Good Friday and stayed dead three 24-hour
days as he prophesied, then he would have been resurrected
Monday evening at the earliest!

How do true Christians really honor our Savior?

17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide
it among yourselves: 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit
of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19 And he took bread,
and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my
body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
(Luke 22:17-19) (King James Version)

This year, mainstream Christendom will worship Easter on her
festival day without realizing or caring that they are offending
Jehovah and his son.
Mainstream Christendom willingly observes
the festival of Easter without a thought about what God or even
His son thinks of it. In fact, those very people will attend the Easter
sunrise service at their churches with pride. They are convinced that
they are showing only the utmost respect for Christ on “Resurrection
Day”. They will be shocked when the day comes that they finally
meet him face to face and he is furious with them.

46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”
(Luke 6:46) (NIV)

Christmas and Easter – These spurious, counterfeit
holydays represent a COMPROMISE with paganism,
an attempt on the part of the church to convert the
heathen by meeting them halfway. But the Scriptures
clearly teach that there must be NO Compromise
with the evil one on any point. Paul gives the warning:
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter
times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies
in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot
iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1, 2.”

The festival of Easter is an insult to Christ, who died for us.
There is a group of true Christians who ignore the festival of
Easter but observe The Memorial of the death of Christ.
They do this in remembrance of him. You will find these followers
of Christ attending The Memorial on Monday, April 14th, in
the Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses all around the world.
The public is invited to attend. Please contact a local Kingdom
Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the starting time.
